Corey Feldman's newest musical venture, Truth Movement, had its "Green Carpet" event at the well-known Key Club venue in West Hollywood for debut album release, Technology Analogy. The underlining theme of Truth Movement is discussing technology and its involvement in today's society. This environmentally-friendly themed event was not unlike other Hollywood events in the traditional sense that are complete with a press wall, celebrity personalities, and, of course, TMZ. What set this event apart was the ultimate message being delivered by Feldman and the project.
From a lyrical perspective, many of today's environmental and technological issues are acknowledged and painted in Technology Analogy. The messages being touched upon are not clich? topics a typical rock band would discuss or market. Though some of the messages seem like awkward topics, I have to give credit where credit is due, because finding originality these days is difficult. Discussing communication, media, and using extended metaphors for relating technology to life is definitely unique, to say the least.
After doing some research prior to the show, I was not exactly sure what the live experience was going to be like in portraying these messages, and how the audience would respond to Corey Feldman's new project. Alas, any prejudged expectations I may have created were quickly displaced, as the Truth Movement's live performance was extremely theatrical and definitely a new kind of entertainment. They not only explained their message, but did so in ways I would have never anticipated. They packed their performance with engaging audio introductions, interesting lighting and video displays, as well as the presence of some familiar music industry faces, including members of Pink Floyd who not only contributed to the album, but performed for the event as well.
